The Pikes Peak Region’s Memorial Wall offers a place to reflect on the sacrifices made for our freedom. Any members of our Armed Forces who were lost in Iraq and Afghanistan since September 11, 2001 and were stationed at one of our five area installations, had a home of record in El Paso or Teller County or graduated from the Air Force Academy are listed on the wall in remembrance of their sacrifice and service.Find out more »
Escape from the modern distractions, and celebrate an old-fashioned Christmas in Cripple Creek and Victor.
Holiday activities will kick off with the nightly Gold Camp Christmas Holiday Headframe Lighting throughout Cripple Creek and Victor and a Winter Wonderland every weekend at the Cripple Creek District Museum. Experience the lights in the Gold Camp by taking a drive (with your favorite Christmas tunes playing) on a self-guided tour through our area as our mine headframes are decorated with large Christmas light displays. Would you prefer a guided tour? Then be sure to check out the detailed schedule of events for the time and date for the guided tour over the main event weekend.
DUE TO THE COVID-19 CRISIS, THE 2020 DONKEY DERBY DAYS WILL BE POSTPONED UNTIL SEPT. 5TH-7TH (tentatively). Now in its 89th year, Donkey Derby Days tops the list of favorite Cripple Creek events. People from all over the world descend on downtown to be inspired by the town’s resident donkey herd, believed to be distant relatives of the original donkeys from the town’s Gold Rush days. The event will be downsized this year to avoid large gatherings, so the races and parade will likely be postponed until the 90th anniversary in 2021.Find out more »
