The City of Cripple Creek has a lively history of public celebration and events. You are invited to join us as we host numerous events that have differing themes and activities. Come watch live ice sculptors create works of art during our Ice Festival event. Prefer something warmer? The Cripple Creek Chili Cookoff and Donkey Derby Days are a great way to kick off any fun-filled summer! Summer events feature our famous donkey races and the spectacular 4th of July firework show, complete with entertainment, street vendors, contests, activities for children and more – there is something here for everyone in the family to enjoy.

As the Summer winds down and Fall is on the horizon, come to Cripple Creek. Our military appreciation event is our way of saying "thank you" to the members of our armed forces and their families. We invite you to join us for this patriotic weekend of fun and live entertainment, historical re-enactments and a solemn memorial. Rev up your engine and come to Cripple Creek for our Fall car show, where Bennett Avenue is transformed into a showcase for the most beautiful rides in the area!

Speaking of engines, drive around the area and see why we're called the "World's Greatest Gold Camp" as our Fall leaves put on a beautiful, picture-perfect show. Our new Mine to Mine Challenge will test the runner in you, and our Halloween Monster Ball is sure to be a spooktacular time!  And when all the fun and games are done, we have one more... The Gold Camp Christmas event is sure to keep your spirits bright with holiday lights and activities, and of course, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus!

  • Featuring Western Art (including Native American, Cowboy, and Wildlife pieces), the "Once Upon a Time in the West" art show will showcase beautiful works of art from talented artists at the Cripple Creek Heritage Center. Show dates are from June 22nd - July 4th, 2012. Show times will be from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

  • Now in its 81st year, Donkey Derby Days tops the list of favorite Cripple Creek events. People from all over the world descend on downtown, drawn by a chance to watch a race inspired by the town’s resident donkey herd, believed to be distant relatives of the original donkeys from the town’s Gold Rush days.

  • Grab your boots and your hat and join us for the 1st Annual Cripple Creek Roughstock Rodeo.  Friday and Saturday feature eight roughstock events, to include:

  • Since 1900, the Cripple Creek Fourth of July Celebration has been recognized as one of the best displays of Colorado fireworks anywhere.  This patriotic community knows how to put on a show, and the 4th is a much-anticipated celebration.

  • The City of Cripple Creek welcomes the Salute to American Veterans Rally August 17th - 19th for a show-stopping, patriotic display that recognizes our nation's finest. Join us on Saturday for an impressive parade and the 25th Annual POW/MIA Recognition Ride - Colorado's largest procession of motorcycles.

  • A Car Show Featuring Vintage, Custom, and Classic Cars and Motorcycles. Live entertainment, Poker Run, Show’n Shine, and so much more!

  • History, and the ghosts from the past, come to life during the annual "Mt. Pisgah Speaks Cemetery Tour". The Gold Camp Victorian Society, dedicated to the preservation of the history of Cripple Creek, hosts this unique tour. Complete with character reenactments at different locations through the Mt.

  • The 2 Mile High Club's annual aspen tour event will begin at the Cripple Creek Heritage Center.  Come see the beautiful fall colors as Colorado showcases the World's Greatest Gold Camp!  Tours are offered on a first come, first served basis - reservations will not be accepted.

  • The Cripple Creek Gravity Races are back!  Join us as we celebrate the return of brave and creative racers showcasing their home-made vehicles as they fly down Bennett Avenue.  Spectators are treated to quite the show as racers maneuver around obstacles at ever-increasing speeds in fun, uniquely designed cars.

  • Christmas in Cripple Creek & Victor is a special time of year.  When bells are ringing and carolers are singing, it is unmistakably Christmas in the Gold Camp.  This year's theme, "The Sounds of Christmas," is so very fitting as our communities resonate with all those festive sounds that fill the air with holiday spirit.
