Snow Sports
Numerous trails wind through the region that are great for snow shoeing and cross country skiing. Most are along the Highway 67 corridor north of Cripple Creek, either in Mueller State Park or across the highway from the park near the Crags. Because of our fabulous year-round sunshine, it is better to get out on fresh snow early in the day.
We usually get the most snow of the year during our spring season. Snowmobilers enjoy exploring the snow-bound national forest after these big snows.
If there isn't enough snow here, make Cripple Creek your vacation hub and take a day trip out toward Buffalo Peaks for cross country skiing or snowshoeing -- it's less than an hour west.
